- Mathruchaya Function - Date: 29th Sept 2007,
Majority of the programs were by the children whose education is
sponsored by Mathruchhaya. The audience included the Old Age
Residents and the children. Gifts were given to one and all. This
was our first program for an old age home and there were a few
shortcomings. However, the General Manager and
the residents were very kind and told us how to avoid the same in
the future. Thank you to all and we will definitely improve on each
performance and make the program even more interesting to watch. A
note of gratitude to the Manager, Rachael Ma'am and Seema for their help and assistance. Event Photos -

- Special Home of Hope Visit - Our first visit to
Special Home of Hope on 30 Sept 2007. The children are more alive
and bright than one can imagine. Each with strong developed tastes
in hobbies, dancing and games. The stories, singing and prayers were
enjoyed by all. But it was the dancing that had everyone hooked.
From the youngest toddler to the eldest girl all ran to the ground
and danced enthusiastically to the self developed songs. All the
children were given warm and bright sweaters by the volunteers of
the organizations, Calvary Chapel Trust. We also had the opportunity
to meet a very talented physically challenged artist who has a side
job of the watchman at the Boy's home next door. It is an endeavor
of WeCouldBe.org that auctions of his paintings be organized online and at
various functions at the earliest.
- Exhibition of Talent - The lovely and enthusiastic
girls of the Home of Hope were shown
the samples and procedures of making crafts that can be displayed
and sold to raise revenue. with the exception of the 12 babies in
the room, every girl participated and exhibited special talents in
painting, sketching and stitching. They grasped the techniques very
fast. Even the head warden was in the centre of the room, observing
and trying to retain every fold and cut. The girls will be helping
make goods for the stall at Forum and subsequently at other places
to raise fund not only for their own orphanage but also for Special
Home of Hope, the orphanage for HIV positive children.
